TOE & Jumbo & teaming

I have a DL585 G1 with 2 x NC370T NICS.
I can team them up ok, I can run Jumbo frames on them ok, and I can run TCP Offload Engine BUT I cant do TOE and Jumbo at the same time - the driver disables TOE when you enable Jumbo. Is there a HP NIC that can do Jumbo and TOE and be in a team? Cheers

Re: TOE & Jumbo & teaming

hi

reading this document I think that is a limitation not hardware related

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00846707/c00846707.pdf

"Maximum Frame Size. NCU option.
Specifies the maximum number of bytes in a single packet. Larger frames can increase throughput and decrease CPU use by putting more data in each packet, thereby sending out fewer packets. This is equivalent to Jumbo Frames and must comply with switch limitations.
When TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE) is enabled, this property cannot be set to greater than 1514 bytes. If this property is set to greater than 1514 bytes, TOE cannot be enabled.
o Default = 1514 Bytes
o Range = 1514 Bytes; 4088 Bytes; 9014 Bytes "
maybe this can help you

Re: TOE & Jumbo & teaming

hi

by the way

NC370T does not mention anything about supporting jumbo frames like for instance NC373F which supports both(of course it don not say about both at the same time - so that is my prior reply )

take a look
