Tape backup

I am having trouble getting compression to work. The settings say that compression is turned on but all that I get out of a 20/40 DLT is 21/22 G. Any ideas?

Compression is relative to the type of files as some are highly compressable and others not. Also ensure that the backup program is set to use hardware compression and not software.
