Temperature thresshold settings

Anyone knows if its possible to change the temperature threshold settings? Due to environmental issue, my customer wants to set the threshold lower. Kindly share your comments. Thanks!

P.S. This thread has been moved from Windows based to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL).

Jameson:
Are you asking about having an alarm sound if the CPU temp, or the chassis temp gets too high?

On the MSI motherboards I use, the BIOS has those options. They're under PC Health Status. The motherboards also came with a utility program that does the same thing right within Windows.

Can you give us details about the computer model, including the motherboard if you know it? If unsure, you can run the Belarc advisor, which you can download for free from www.belarc.com

Re: Temperature thresshold settings

Hi Kim, thanks for your reply. The servers are DL380 and DL580. Due to the environment, the customer wants to reduce the threshold so that if the server hits certain temperature, the server could proceed to shutdown itself. The default setting is too high for their environment hence explains my question as to how can i go about changing the temperature threshold setting. Can you advise me on this?

Thanks!

Jameson,
I'm unfamiliar with servers. Sorry. Have you looked in the BIOS?

Hi Kim, yes my guys have look at the BIOS but unfortunately, there is no input area to change the settings.

Re: Temperature thresshold settings

Sorry Jameson. When I say I'm unfamiliar with servers, what I really mean is that I know absolutely NOTHING about any of them. I'm a Windows PC Support Specialist. I don't even go near servers.
Good Luck, I hope someone can step in and help you.
