The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.

I have a Proliant 1600, which reboots about twice a week in the evening. I get the following error which may be related.

"A conflict has been detected between two drivers which claimed two overlapping Io port regions. Driver cirrus, with device <\Device\Video1.Translated>, claimed an IO port range with starting address in data address 0x28 and 0x2c, and length in data address 0x30."

I also have problems when rebooting. Only the NT4 VGA option will display the desktop. I'm then prompted for various display adaptors. I've applied the latest support pack 6.30a

Can someone please advise me which is the correct driver to use.

Thanks in advance, Chris.

Re: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.

Hello,

Does your system have a Qvision 2000 video card installed to replace the onboard video on the processor cage?

Is your system running Windows NT4?

If so, this problem can be resolved by updating the Qvision driver. There is a Compaq Softpaq for this original problem but it's probably superceded now as it was dated 1998. Here is the link to it if required.

There was also a similar issue with an STB graphics card. See the following Customer Advisory.
