The network link is down.

Hi.

I have a HP ProLiant serie ML110 G5 (534458-075), with NC105i PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet. It's the second time, with different customers and different networks, that i recive this with Windows Server 2008 x64:

-Gigabit Ethernet Broadcom NetXtreme: The network link is down. Check to make sure the network cable is properly connected.
- Gigabit Ethernet Broadcom NetXtreme: Network controller configured for 100Mb full-duplex link.

This is done randomly 4 or 5 times per day.
It loses the connection to the network and sometimes it comes back again automaticaly. All Remote Desktop sessions are closed.

Anyone knows what this can be caused?

Re: The network link is down.

It may be your Switch that is playing up.

Is it a Cisco switch?

Try setting the speed/duplex manually instead of letting it autodetect.
(Some switches can be rather finnicky when it comes to autodetecting.)

Re: The network link is down.

The servers are linked directly to routers provided by the internet provider, so not really good switchs/routers.

So it's normally 100Mb/fullduplex if i have to make it manual?
