The system encountered a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI)....

Folks, I'm seeing a lot of these recently:

"The system encountered a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) prior to this boot. The NMI source was: Uncorrectable memory error, board 3, memory module 12, or board 3, memory module 13."

Version of Version Control Agent Software - "ProLian Support Pack fo Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x65 - Editions version 7.91A (English).

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this. Is there another Update that needs to be applied or work-around. I've done a ton of reading on this and haven't seen anything. I'm wondering if it isn't actually hardware related vs. firmware.

As a point of clarification this is a DL585 G1 server that has external storage and is used as a cluster server w/ MS SQL Server 2005.

hi

first step
read this
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=398220&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=398220&objectID=c00589945

and update System ROM
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=398220&swItem=MTX-0e0040e85d6f4be9bede7cd0e1&prodNameId=3288126&swEnvOID=1113&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=3

if after this issue continues must be a HW issues so it would determine if the processor memory board if failing or the memory modules but of course I hope issue is going to be solved with System ROM update

I almost forgot not always uncorrectable memory errors mean faulty memory by experience reseating memory fix a lot of issues

try 1 step and let us know
