Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

Hello everyone,

i have an DL380G6 here and getting emails about thermal degrades all day. When i check the system management homepage it says:
21 Storage N/A 60 C

That's why i get all the mails. Do you think it's an hardware error? Newest Proliant Pack is applied.

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

Maybe the customer advisory c01744810 is applicable here

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c01744810

As mentioned, I would look at the IML viewer to check the fan and temperature sensor information to get the actual data.

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

Although the advisory is for DL320 G6 but may help to know if it's sensor problem or management agent's problem.

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

I checked it with HP Insight Diagnostics. Now i shows 3├В┬░C. I don't think it's right. Other thermal chassis sensors are between 15 and 20.

I will open a case and HP will send a technician onsite.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

Just a question. What happens if the temperature is under 0 ├В┬░C ? Could this be the case ?

The server is in the basement of a old building and it's very cold there. :)

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

I'm still having the same problem.

Can anyone confirm that there is a problem if one sensor has minus degree ?

Thanks for your responses.

Re: Thermal Status degraded - Temperature is N/A

new firmware is around the corner that addresses quite a few few issues for this g6

wait for that
