Thermal Thresholds in the ML350

I've a problem, My server keeps reporting high temperature values and shuts itself off.
The processor reports temperatures in excess of 82 Degrees, but the fan assembly is cool to the touch.
The value bobs up and down between 55 deg and about 82 deg.
Is there a bios fix for this?
Is there anyway of changing the upper limit of the temperature threshold?

Re: Thermal Thresholds in the ML350

Hi Waruna,

We cannot modify temperature threshold. If all the fan are working fine and the temperature seems to be ok but server reporting it fault. I would suggest to upgrade the BIOS firmware to the latest version and check. If upgrading still does not resolve the issue then it could that the sensor on the systemboard has gone bad.

We might need to replace the systemboard or try to disable Thermal Shutdown in the BIOS and check.

Re: Thermal Thresholds in the ML350

Thanks buddy,
I shall get HP to come in and have a look at it and change the bloomin' mobo if needed.
I thought I would have to do this, and it has come to it, Thanks again.
