Time Drift Problem DL380G5 - Tool to query bios time.

Hi All

I have a problem at the moment where the start-up event (6005) is time stamped before the shutdown event (6006) in the windows event log on a few of my DL380 G5's when they reboot. This obviously incorrect...

I suspect this could be an issue with the system/bios clock not being synced before the event log starts up.

Example

1. Server Running – Clock Synced to Domain
2. Server Shutdown – Timestamp is correctly recorded.
3. Server Restarts – Clock reverts to system clock (fast)
4. Server Starts-up – Timestamp is incorrectly recorded (fast)
5. Server Started – Clock Synced to Domain

Does any one know of any tools that can query (change not needed at this stage) the system/bios clock with restarting the server?

Or have any insight to what could be causing this issue?

have you compared system BIOS version between serves that are working fine and the ones that do not?

I compared a working to non working and they are identical in reagrds to Hardware, ROMS and PSP. (PROD - DR Scenario)

It would be good if I could get something to determine the time scew factor.

I am suspecting it is very high for the affected servers.

I know it has been a while....but I thought I would update this thread in case someone else is hitting the issue.

MS released a hotfix for it.
