Timing out trying to upgrade firmware on ILO on a DL380 G3
Hi, the ILO is performing all its normal functions, but as part of a security strategy to improve ILO functionality, I am trying to upgrade the firmware of the ILO through the upgrade firmware option when logged into the card. during the upload part of the firmware, it hangs continually about 15%. Anyone got any ideas??

Re: Timing out trying to upgrade firmware on ILO on a DL380 G3
There are 3 methods to upgrade the firmware on an iLO:
- Through a Java applet in the web UI
- Booting to a ROMPAQ floppy
- Online in Windows or Linux
Have you tried option 3?

Re: Timing out trying to upgrade firmware on ILO on a DL380 G3
Hi, I tried the Windows based upgrade tool & it looked as if it worked, but when u go back to the ILO it is still sitting with the old firmware of 1.20. I then ran the floppy based version & it detected the old version, read both diskettes & then failed with an error "unsupported flash device" but I double checked that I am using the correct firmware upgrade....
So I am kinda confused.

Re: Timing out trying to upgrade firmware on ILO on a DL380 G3
If all 3 methods are failing, I would have to conclude that there is a hardware fault involved...
