Troubleshooting ML330 G3 "bad block" error
I am investigating a "bad block" event error on our ML330 G3 Terminal Server. The server is running ok for the moment. The HD is a Compaq BD07296B44 SCSI 80GB disk but I am not sure if this setup is RAID or not. I have not run chkdsk /r yet becuase I backed up first. Can anyone recommend the best hd diag utility to evaluate the health of this scsi disk?

Re: Troubleshooting ML330 G3 "bad block" error
Hi Mark,
You can try HP Insight Diagnostics online edition.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=in&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316573&prodNameId=3279701&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-85592c45af42432b8ce60b9063
For other operating systems, visit the following link for ML330 G3 drivers and software downloads:

Select the operating system to proceed with the download.
Also, depending the controller installed you can try
HP ProLiant Array Diagnostics and SmartSSD Wear Gauge Utility (GUI and CLI) for Windows

Re: Troubleshooting ML330 G3 "bad block" error
Hi,
I am not sure if you are aware of HP's Array Diagnostic Utility to check the array and the hard drives.
But here it is, Click here to download ADU for Windows OS.
Also if you need any help in troubleshooting, I recommend HP Guided Troubleshooting.
Click here to access HP GT for ML330 Server Series.
Thank You!
