Trying to reinstall Windows 2000 Server on ML350

Looked through the forums and user guides, new to HP stuff, here is my problem:

This should be pretty simple, I am trying to reinstall Windows 2000 Server on this machine, it finds the CD and loads
until it trys to identify the drives on the machine and then says "No Hard Drives found", Obviously there are hardrives
because it can boot the old Windows 2000 from the Compaq Proliant 532 Disk array where it is previously loaded. Do I need to install a specific driver for the proliant array when
Windows 2000 Server is first loading? (F6) If so can you please point me to the file and I will take it from there.

Hi,

When installing Windows on a ProLiant its usual to boot off a SmartStart CD first which will allow you to do an assisted installation that includes all the required HP drivers and software.

You don't say what generation of server you've got, however I'm guesing its a G1. You can download version 5.50 of SmartStart for that server here:

If you have a different generation server, then search for the model number at

http://www.hp.com/go/support

and you should get to the relevant download page.

You can also download the required driver (Smart Array Controller 532, Microsoft Windows 2000) for manual installation from following link :

For Automated installation, You can use the SmartStart CD :

Note : Make sure the name your server is there on page
