Turn off Error 1611 - CPU Fan Not Present

We purchased a fan with half the noise level as the fan that came with our Proliant ML370 G2. We also added an after market temperature sensor / fan speed control since our server didn't come with that feature. Everything works fine except at boot up we get error 1611 and the system shuts down.

Is there a way to disable this environmental monitoring? What is the motherboard using to sense the fan being present? Maybe we can trick the server into thinking the fan is connected to the motherboard.

Re: Turn off Error 1611 - CPU Fan Not Present

The new fan is spinning just fine. The issue is that I'm not connecting the new fan to the motherboard. Instead, I have purchased a temperature sensor / fan speed control device since my Proliant didn't come with that capability. Is there a way to short a few pins in the 6 pin fan jumper to trick the server into thinking the fan is connected? Or is there a way to disable checking for the fan in the BIOS?
