Two floppy disks detected on DL380G3

Hello everybody,

We have just setup a Windows NT4.0 TSE for a citrix install on a DL380 G3 (recent serial number). And what a surprise : we have two floppy disks detected by the OS !
We have patched everything which could be patched (Server, ILO, Smart,OS, ...) but nothing changed. We have extracted Raid1 drives from a similar configuration (which worked fine) and put them in that server, and, again, two floppy drives detected. So, before returning that server to HP, anybody has got any idea to solve that funny thing ?

Re: Two floppy disks detected on DL380G3

I'd recommend taking a look under the advanced options in the Rom Based Setup (F9 - during post) and see if the Virtual Install Disk is enabled. If this is enabled, then go ahead and diable it, then see if it's still showing two floppies.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Two floppy disks detected on DL380G3

Thanks a lot, Terry,
that was exactly our problem. And the DL380 G3 which was working had its virtual install disk option disabled.

Now, each server shows its own floppy drive.

Thank you again, and bravo,
