UEFI slow boot SAS HBA - 336 drives

Hi Everyone,

We have 336 drives connected to a single HP DL380 g9 server. The drives are connected via two PCIe cards - LSI SAS 9300-8e.

Without the 336 drives connected the system boots up quickly without any problems. With the 336 drives connected the system boots up very slowly probably scanning all the 336 drives. The boot times are as long as 1 hour.

Note - The boot process takes a long time during POSt initialization and not during OS loading. After I see the linux grub, it takes about 1 minute to boot up completely.

I have looked at all the HP advisories, updated BIOS firmware , played with all the UEFI settings with no luck

Is there a way to speed up the boot process by telling UEFI to avoid scanning the 336 drives ?
