UID remains lit on BL20p

We have a handful of BL20p's whose UID light remains on continuously. I'm sure that no one is currently administoring these servers. I also have several blades that do not do this.

Any ideas? We should be up to date on our HPsim software and our agents.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Re: UID remains lit on BL20p

That possibly if you let UID on or Session not closed properly, however it might be related to HW (System board). Try to test one Server clear NVRAM and Reseat Server from enclosure, see how it go and judge after if it HW or Reseat Problem.
BTW: Keep system ROM and ILO firmware Up to date

Re: UID remains lit on BL20p

It could be of the Session not closed or In ILO the UID led is turned on. Open an ILO session under Virtual Devices select Virtual Indicators and you should see the Server Unit ID light is currently ON. Press the button "Turn Unit ID OFF" and that should turn off the UID.

Re: UID remains lit on BL20p

Thanks for the tip. Virtual indicators was set to off- I toggled it on/off to see if that would make a difference.

We are confirming that we are on the correct agent and firmware versions.

Re: UID remains lit on BL20p

If they are G3's, then the system board has to be replaced to fix, according to this forum enytry:
