UPS Cant detect

HI,
I am facing a problem with Compaq R3000XR , I want to manage the same using HP Powermanagement. I can isntall the software on the server (Dell, Windows 2003 Small Business server)but serial port cant detect the UPS I have tried I have tried HPPM 4.0, 4.3 and Lansafe5 but result is same . serial port on server is fine bcz i usedto configure Cisco switch using the same. I have powr off the UPS and server pulled the power cable for a while and restarted but its remain same .. I spend lot of time doing it .. Anyone could help me

hi,

on the prolliant servers we hade similiar problem, adter disabling serial port on the ilo the problem was solved, i don't know how the serial port works on dell servers, never connected a UPS to them.
