USB Drive Key Booting

Hi all,

I am trying to get my unattended installations to work on the new G4 Servers that don't come with floppy drives.

I have been able to do this with the HP Drive Key Boot Utility, but I have one little problem. At one point of my scripted install it reboots the server and will if no user intervention is made (using the jo.sys file) it should boot from the HDD of the server. The problem comes in when using a USB Key to boot the server it automatically assigns the C: Drive to the USB Key and therefore when no user intervention is encountered it does not boot from the HDD of the local server.

Has anyone been able to overcome this ? Does anyone know how to go around this ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: USB Drive Key Booting

Jason,

There is a small tool used for Blade deployment which might do the trick which was written by one of the Compaq engineers a while back. No promises.

If you want to try it just e-mail me and I'll send it on.
