USB PCI card in Proliant 2500?

What is the liklihood that a PCI USB 2.0 card will work in a Proliant 2500 server?

Thomas:

You may get it to work, depending on the card used...

The PCI bus in Slots 5 and 6 are going to be your best PCI slots to test on. (yes, I said test) They are going to be 5 volt 33Mhz slots. The rerst are shared or EISA.

The following is the "Overview" of the 2500: http://h200002.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/UCR/SupportManual/TPM_201A1196/TPM_201A1196.pdf

G'luck!
Enjoy!

I can't comment on the 2500, but a garden-variety USB 2.0 card from CompUSA ($20) is working fine in my Proliant 1500 running FreeBSD 5.2.1. It is connected to an external 120G ATA drive at the moment. If you need to know which slot I chose, I can check.
