Ubuntu 18.04LTS / DL20 GEN10 / help reduce fan speed and noise

Hi,

I installed Ubuntu18.04LTS using AHCI mode on DL20Gen10.

However, there was a problem that the fan speed was fixed at 36% or higher.

I need help reduce the fan speed and noise.

Hello,

You may use the OS Independent version of "HPE Gen10 Innovation Engine Firmware for HPE Gen10 Servers".

Also, reseat/swap the fans to check for any that are not working correctly. You may refer to steps for removing the fan on page 82 of the "HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 Maintenance and Service Guide" if needed.

You may also, update the server's BIOS and iLO firmware from the HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 Server's driver and firmware download section.
