Ultra 3 installation

My organization wants to install a smart array 5300 controller to use with two new 36GB SCSI drive. We are currently using 8 Ultra SCSI - 2 disk in the server. The SCSI - 3 drive will be in addition to the 8 drives we already have installed. What do we need to do before installing the new controller? Is the installation of this controller even possible with our current configuration?

yes it is possible...you need to place the controller in the system and configure it (drives attached) via the following: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/10253.html
