Unable to configure RAID5

Hi

We have DL380G6, with P410i smart array controller card, with 3 * 300 GB SAS G6 disks. We are unable to configure RAID5, it gives only the option of RAID0/1+0.

Re: Unable to configure RAID5

You probably have the "zero cache" P410i controller. You need to add cache memory and battery options to the 410i to be able to do RAID5.

Re: Unable to configure RAID5

hi,

as TTr said, if you dont have memory installed, on your Array controller, this option will be not to see.

Re: Unable to configure RAID5

Hi,
So if i install any of the below options i would be able to configure RAID 5,
HP 256 MB P-series cache module FIO
or
Battery Kit upgrade
or
512MB BBWC
or
512MB Flash Backed Write Cache

Re: Unable to configure RAID5

You have to be careful. I think the first two that you mentioned are only cache and only battery. You need both cache and battery

HP 256 MB P-series cache module FIO
AND
Battery Kit upgrade

or
512MB BBWC

or
512MB Flash Backed Write Cache

Verify with your HP supplier each option.
