People,
I'm currently having problem and facing difficulties in rebuilding HP ML 110 G5 server with WIndows Server 2012 R2 OS:
1. Using the most updated HP SPP 2014.09, I cannot perform the firmware update both Interactive and Automatic.
2. Using the HP Smart Start v 8.70b I cannot select the Windows Server 2012 R2 OS from the OS selection, hence I managed to manually install Windows Server 2012 R2.
But somehow I cannot Seem to detect:
1. The RAID-1 that was created on using the board SATA controller.
2. HP System Management Homepage unable to detect any of the hardware components ?
So can anyone please share what is the trick to make HP agent and WBEM providers working under Windows Server 2012 R2 OS ?
THe server is still working good with no problem.

SolutionHello,
Please refer to the server's compatibility with OS, SPP, CD, Firmware before updating.
ML110 G5 does not support Windows 2012.
This server supports Windows 2008.
http://h17007.www1.hp.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/windows.aspx
HP Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) Version 2014.09.0 (This release no longer supports ProLiant G5 and earlier platforms).
HP SmartStart CD is not supported on 100 series servers.
ML110 G5 supports Easy Set-Up CD. Click here.
Thank You!

Re: Unable to detect any hardware component on ML 110 G5 ?
Suman,
So in this case, There is no other way to run Windows Server 2012 R2 or any Windows version later than 2008 R2 ?
I guess, my only options is just to install Windows Server 2008 R2 with the Smart Start CD.

Re: Unable to detect any hardware component on ML 110 G5 ?
Hello,
Customer is free to install any OS they want on their server but it will not be supported by HP.
There may not be any drivers for that OS+your server.
Thank You!
