Unable to install PSP 8 on Windows 2008 x64 Enterprise 585 G2

I have a DL 5858 G2 and get the following when trying to install the version 8 PSP... It works on my 385 G2 machines... Thoughts?

Installation for "HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server 2003/2008 x64 Editions" requires one or more of the following that is not currently installed or in the install set:

- HP ProLiant Advanced System Management Controller Driver for Windows
- HP ProLiant iLO Advanced and Enhanced System Management Controller Driver for Windows
- HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows

Thanks for the quick response. That is indeed the PSP I am using.

Yeah, I did think about downloading the components individually but I was more or less curious why that would be required. I'm used to being able to just install the thing...

yeap, the *.exe file should have everything however this psp is can of new "25 Feb 2008" so is still buggy, remember that windows 2008 is fairly new and you know that patches and patches and patches are release daily because of this "bugs", remember that the psp depends on windows...

Well, I tried installing some individual components but still can't install management agents (for same reason as my initial post)

Weird... I guess I'll open a case with HP (argh)

Thanks for your assistance

Re: Unable to install PSP 8 on Windows 2008 x64 Enterprise 585 G2

Karlo - Thanks for that idea I hadn't tried that one yet - no go though...

I do believe I have found the solution for this. The following firmware update fixed:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3219717&prodNameId=3288124&swEnvOID=4024&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-8a18214254e142ac984c3e70ab

This is interesting because I could not build the 585G2 with 2008 x64 Enterprise until I updated the BIOS so I used the Firmware Maintenance CD (Version 8.0) and that kept it at A07 but updated the date at post screen to 09/24/07. The firmware update I linked to above also keeps the version number at A07 but updates the date to 11/21/07.

Someone should tell HP it's customary to chenge the version number when releasing a different BIOS version ;-)

Re: Unable to install PSP 8 on Windows 2008 x64 Enterprise 585 G2

Further clarification on my last post... A07 is the motherboard number (so it would change by applying firmware update). The date IS the version number of the BIOS. Most of you probably already knew that but I guess I didn't ;-)
