Unable to install WBEM management agents on ProLiant DL380 G6 (Windows)

I have a ProLiant DL380 G6 running Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise (SP1).  I am trying to install the WBEM agents on it (latest - 9.50) and it is failing.  Tried rebooting too - still fails.  Here is the error log;

Does anyone know how to fix this or generate a more details log file that might include more information as to how to fix this?

Hi,

Have you checked the Prerequisites:

• The HP Insight Management WBEM Providers version 9.0.0.0 require storage, network, system management controller, and Lights-Out interface drivers from PSP 9.00.
• In addition, the System Management Homepage (SMH) component is required for a single server web-based user interface.

Follow this article where a similar issue is discussed on a different server model.

Hi!

We had the same issue recently and found the solution in this thread

You have to install the WBEM providers package before installing the management agents or the full HP SPP because a Visual c++ runtime library that gets installed with the agents causes the WBEM package to fail, for some reason. Apparently, this has been the case for a while now, without any fix from HP. So if you already installed the agents, do the following:

- Uninstall Visual c++ 2012 RTM Runtime Library DLLs (X64/release)

- Uninstall "HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions 9.60.0.0"

- Install "HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server x64 Editions"

- Install "HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions 9.60.0.0"

I just tried version 10 of the WBEM agents, which were just released, and they now correctly install.

Go to the server model drivers page and select the OS, for example for this server, go here:

WBEM will be under "Software - System Management" listed as HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server.
