Unable to update system BIOS

When trying to update system BIOS to latest, Date/Ver of the file in the floppy is showing as the existing one which is there in the system. This happening for second latest system BIOS also.
Affected system is Proliant 800
Existing system BIOS: 4.13A
Unable to update thru: Ver 4.14 A and 4.15 A

Have you tried it via offline method with the Firmware Maintenance CD?

restart or boot your system with this CD in the CD-ROM drive and launch the ROM Update Utility.

Hi Pradip,
If you are not able to use the offline ROM update, try Online (Depending on the OS).

Select the server model and the OS and you should be able to get the right update.

4.13A,4.14A and 4.15A are Soft Packs containg the Bios updates for various servers.


What you should be looking at is the BIOS date.Latest BIOS version for Proliant 800 is ProLiant 800 ROM P14 (11/08/2000)and is the same in Softpack version 4.13A,4.14A and 4.15A.

This is the only reason for it showing you the same file.

Till now only offline method has been checked.

Date of different Versions of BIOS is different, .....

I think it would be worth for you to refer the readme files after extracting the softpack into the floppy.

Readme file for all the softpacks would show you the Bios version date for the PL800 to be the same.

You can try FW CD, it will update all the FW in your server, in one single step.
