Understanding Array building - Help
I've got an MSA 2012sa with about 12 TB of disk space. When I configured an raid level 6 it asked me whether I want the array to be online or offline, I chose online. Right now the array is building and it says that because it is online I can start using it. However when I boot up my dl380 g6 server it can see the msa 2012sa, but can't see the array I created. So my question is what does being online and ready mean if I can't see it on the server?
Thanks
Dan

Re: Understanding Array building - Help
you can do this through the volume management section.
how it is attached to the MSA?
SAN switches? FC? SCSI?
while creating the lun, didn't ask to presento to a server or all?
HTH.

Re: Understanding Array building - Help
That's a SAS interface array. Some information is needed about the connection between server and array (server SAS interface controller, direct connection, etc) as well as LUN security settings (presentation).

Re: Understanding Array building - Help
You're a star!. I didn't realise that I had to map it.
Now that I've mapped it is there a way for rhel 5.2 to pck up the partition while booted up?
Thanks
