Undetected memory
I know this is a Linux forum, but Compaq doesn't seem to have a BSD group. Maybe one open source can help out another.
I have a Proliant 2500 dual processor box with freeBSD 4.3-RELEASE installed. 1GB RAM is shown in the POST, but BSD is only using the first 16 MB. Seen similar problems noted with Linux, and early revs of BSD, but can't find any info on 4.x.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Undetected memory
In redhat, you have to use the line
linux mem=380M@16M
or whatever your memory is.
Redhat has problems booting the geneeric kernel with a gig
of memory, you need to rebuild the kernel....but on some systems you
can lie, (not actually have to take the memory out!)
I hope this helps!
