Unexpected Server reboot

Hi,
I have a DL380 that suddenly rebooted yesterday. Event ID 4196 was logged;

"The Compaq System Management Driver has detected that the system encountered a Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) prior to this boot. The NMI source was: PCI bus error, slot 1"

PCI Slot was is a Remote Insight Card. I know these cards are tempermental but is there any was I can run a diagnostics on it or something similar. This this the first time this error has been logged.

Any ideas?

Do you think the Remote Insight Board caused the crash or am I missing out on something?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Unexpected Server reboot

Hi Matt,

If memory serves correctly, the NMI was raised on the Remote Insight Board.

I haven't been able to find a "serious" diagnostic tool for the RI board. The diags that come with the machine tell you it's there and that's about it.

You might also want to check you have the current driver and firmware, there seem to be a few articles like

(http://h71025.www7.hp.com/support/reference_library/viewdocument.asp?countrycode=1000&prodid=2011&source=EM030408_CW02.xml&dt=3&docid=17114)

which point to machines failing unexpectedly.

Hope this helps
