Uninstall component of PSP?

I have a DL320 G5 which I have just installed the new PSP 7.8 however I now have 2 components showing up as 'upgrade needed' in the version control agent. I try to install them manually but I get
The software is currently installed, but does not need to be installed on
this system.
when i try to install the
Intel Chipset Support for ProLiant Servers for Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions
and
The software will not be installed on this system because the required
hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't
apply to this system.
when i try to install
HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions.

Fair enough you may say, but how do i get rid of them from the version control agent. They aren't in add/remove programs. Am I stuck with an amber version control agent forever now?

Re: Uninstall component of PSP?

I had the exact same issue.
The version control agent gets its "installed programs" listings from c:\CPQSYSTEM\CPXML

It appears there were several older products which "installed", in that they copied their XML file to the above folder, then added a driver you don't use, effectively doing nothing. Newer versions appear smart enough to avoid installing.

Find the XML file in there related to the driver you don't need and move it to an archive (or delete if you feel game). Wait a bit for your VCA to update.
