Unknown PCI in Compaq Proliant DL380 G2
We have Compaq Proliant DL380 G2 with Onboard Smart array 5i and Smart array 5300 controller card connected to Hot Plug PCI slot 3.
The Comapq Storage Work Enclosure 4354R is connected to Smart array 5300 controller card.
The OS is Windows 2000 Server+SP4+SQl server.
The SQL database is stored in Storage enclosure(E drive).
Recently the server was restarted and suddenly we could not see E drive.
There is no Disk Activity on the storage enclosure.
The ACU and ADU is unable to detect Smart array controller card 5300.
NO BIOS message observer during system Boot.
However I noticed under RBSU(version 2) ---> PCI--> PCI slot 3 : Unknow PCI device.
In device manager there in Unknown PCI device and Always Add/Remove wizard promts asking me to install the driver.
I downloaded the Smart array 5300 controller driver from website but Windows is unable to recognise this driver.
Pls advise how to resolve this issue?
suspected Smart array card 5300 failure i have requested for replacement from HP.
after replacing the card, hope my data in the storage box will be intact.
Appreciate your help ASAP.
Regards,
Prashanth

Re: Unknown PCI in Compaq Proliant DL380 G2
You may try installing the card in another PCI Slot or may be another machine to doublecheck on the controller failure
