Re: Unsupported CPU Detected
Has this ever been OK or has it developed since adding a CPU? Only Compaq qualified CPU's will work as the Intel Stepping values are included in the BIOS.
If it's a BIOS issue, you can resolve this by carrying out an Emergency Rom Boot Procedure (ERBootP) with the switch pack on the system board however the easiest way is to get it back to one CPU by adding a CPU terminator, update the firmware and then add the second CPU.
I appreciated that you've probably lost the terminators over the years (If you ever had them in the first place).
I noticed that you are based in the UK. I have spare terminator boards which I can post to you free of charge. If you would like these please contact me initially at brian.murdoch@hp.com. I have two which you are welcome to as they are very useful for troubleshooting.
I hope this helps,
Brian
