Unsupported PCI-X device in dl585 G5
I have 2 NC7770 NIC's, one of which is fresh from a working ML330, that generate a POST error Unsupported PCI Device. I cannot enter the BIOS or perform other troubleshooting. I've searched for info on this erro and also if it is supported on this platform, but no luck so far.
Is it in fact supported or not? If so, how can I get the system to accept it?

Re: Unsupported PCI-X device in dl585 G5
Hi, device is not supported.
see this link for supported NICs on the DL585 G5:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13016_div/13016_div.HTML#Core%20Options
Look under Communications.
However, if you want to make sure it really doesn't work, then try one of the other PCI slots (there are two PCI-x, one half and one full length).
Also don't forget to give points to posts as you are a new member :)

Re: Unsupported PCI-X device in dl585 G5
Thanks for the quick and useful answer. I've tried both slots and both cards, but no joy.
