I downloaded the 2.12 firmware from iLO5 2.12 . It has an rpm and two component signature files. I uploaded all to a remote server and extracted the rpm contents and applied it. That worked fine. The other servers in the rack do not have an OS yet. So, I went into iLO to attempt to upload the bin file, but that failed. I'm not really sure how to use component signature files and can't seem to find any reference? Can anyone point out how to upload this new version to the other servers in the rack? I have http installed on the first server and have put the bin and compsig files there.

Re: Updating ilo 5 2.12
You need the compsig files while updating via SUM or add files to the ILO repository.
WHile updating via ILO webpage directly you don't need the compsig file.
Make sure ILO is running version 1.40 or later before updating to 2.10 or later.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Updating ilo 5 2.12
The servers are at 1.45. But when I tried to upload the ilo5_212.bin file, it failed. Ah, just tried again. It failed when I selected uload to ilo repository. It worked with update firmware. Not sure why one worked and the other didn't.
Thanks!

SolutionTo update, use the update button at the ILO webpage.
For adding to repository (why?), you need the *.fwpkg file format.

Re: Updating ilo 5 2.12
Keep in mind, by using "Update firmware" you can update the firmware directly.
By "Upload to repository" you need SUM or SUT to install the firmware.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
