Upgrade DP380e Gen8
Hello, I want to upgrade HP ProLiant DL380e Gen8 server and I need to check compatibility. PN is: 687570-425
Now server use:
CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2407 0 @ 2.20GHz - 4/4 cores; 4 threads
RAM: 3x 4GB DDR3 1.35V PN: 647647-071
I want to buy second cpu, and add more RAM. So Can I buy Intel Xeon E5-2430 v2 6-Core 2.50 GHz 15M SmartCache SR1AH and two RAMs HP 8 GB 2Rx4 PC3L-10600R DDR3L-1333 RDIMM 647650-071 ? Will it be compatible? Should I buy anything else like HP Heatsink ProLiant DL380e Gen8 677090-001 ?
Should I know someting like compatibility, downclocking or something like that? I want to have more powerfull server for Hyper-V replica because I buy new DL360 Gen10 with 2 CPUs and 64GB RAM. Replica should be used only for 4 VM's.
Thank you for any advice

Re: Upgrade DP380e Gen8
Keep in mind all processors must be same type.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Upgrade DP380e Gen8
OK, so I read all instructions from QuickSpec and if am I right then I shloud buy 2 CPU Intel Xeon E5-2430 v2 6-Core 2.50 GHz 15M SmartCache SR1AH + 1x Heatsink (1 piece I have on bundled CPU) and I can buy 10600 DDR3 RAM but my original is 1333MHz so I should buy 2 pieces HP 8 GB 2Rx4 PC3L-10600R DDR3L-1333 RDIMM 647650-071
Am I correct?
Btw. I like your avatar - Marvin was the best from whole movie!
