Upgrade Harddisk in RAID 1 on DL380 G3

Dear all, how can I upgrade 36GBx2 Harddisk (using RAID 1) to 146GBx2 (still using RAID 1), without losing my data on the existing harddisk.

thanks

Re: Upgrade Harddisk in RAID 1 on DL380 G3

Hi,

one way to do it is following:
1. Leave only one 36.4HDD in the server. In running state put the 146HDD in the server. Wait until the 36 GB rebuilds on the 146.
Then repeat the process taking the 336 out and puting the another 146 with the 2nd 146GB so rebuild is done. Since you have only one HDD involved, no way to lose your data. There is maybe another way, but that 's what comes in my head now.

Hi pac, thanks for your suggestion.

right now I am thinking about the rest of the harddisk space (110 GB), can I expand to the existing array ? or I must create new logical drive ?
