Upgrade MSA500G1 to MSA500G2
1)
Is it possible to upgrade an MSA500G1 to an G2 by only change the 2 Array Controllers, 4-Port SCSI Port and the 256MB Memory Cache Module ?
2)
We are using NetWare 6.5 Sp5 Cluster and want to use Multipathing.

Re: Upgrade MSA500G1 to MSA500G2
Hi,
It should be possible as the chassis, power supplies, SCSI backplane are all common however you would have difficulty with service calls as the original serial number would relate to a MSA500 G1 model. If there was a fault after the upgrade was carried out you may have to specify the required spare part(s) to HP to have it repaired. Also, modifying the original model without purchasing a qualified upgrade kit from HP may invalidate any warranty on the product.
Have a look at the attached document which shows the differences between the two models.
I hope this helps.
