Upgrade Storage Controller (6i > 6400)
I've got a DL380 G4 that is currently using the embedded 6i array controller. For performance reasons, I would like to change this to use a Smart Array 6400. I have successfully added the card to the server, and when I plug the backplane into the 6400 all of the logical drives are recognised correctly.
However, when the OS (windows Server 2003) tries to load, it blue screens and then reboots. I have therefore had to revert back to the 6i controller
Any help to get around this would be much appreciated.

Re: Upgrade Storage Controller (6i > 6400)
1) shutdown server
2) install 6400, no drives connected
3) boot server
4) install latest PSP
5) shutdown server
6) move cables from 6i to 6400
7) boot server
8) during post change the boot controller order (press f8 during the post process on the 6400 and select it as the boot controller)
9) done :)

Re: Upgrade Storage Controller (6i > 6400)
JP...did this work...I have the same issue. I built a server using the onboard 6I and now I need to use the 6400.
