Upgrade ilom firmware from ilom2 to ilom3 or ilom4

Hi All,

I need to upgrade HP proliant G6 & G8 ilom firmware. Just wanted to know does it possible?

I am aware about upgrading the ilom but never did from 2 to 3 or 4.

Any help would be appreciated.

The ILO chip itself is a fixed component on the board, so you cannot upgrade the chip.

But you can update the firmware.

You just go to the HP Support Page then find back the match of your server, like DL360 G6, G5 etc, then chooose the OS version, then you will see the iLO firmware there.

Some suggestion, also upgrade the BIOS too, since some Firmware upgrade have the depend on it, read the Release Notes you will see this.
