Upgrade of disk and memory

I have a Proliant 3000 R 6/333 PII and wonder if it can take more than 512MB of memory as the documentation states not too go beyond that for system performances (memory above 512MB is not cacheable by the PII processor).

Also, I have 6 x 1.6" 18.2 GB drives in the internal drive cage and wonder if it is possible to put 6 x 1" 36.4 GB drives instead. I am not sure if Compaq makes 36.4 GB drives for the Proliant 3000 server.

Re: Upgrade of disk and memory

Hi,
You cannot use more then 512MB of RAM in the type of Server you have since it wont recognize more RAM then 512MB unfortunately. About the HDDs We do have 36.4GB Hot Pluggable ones with Option P/N 400740-B21 which 1.6" height Wide Ultra SCSI 3. If you have the Simplex/Duplex Wide Drive Cage, then that Supports Wide Ultra SCSI-3 Drives. Just to be sure the P/N for Drive Cage is 328696-001.
