Upgrade to processor on ML350

Added a 2nd processor to an ML350 G2 1266mhz.

On boot up the server gave an error saying that we did not have a backup second power pack. I stopped boot up just in case it caused further problems.

Does anyone know whether this error was just for information or whether we do need to purchase a backup power pack?

Thanks for any help offered.

Julie

Julie:

Did the server give you a POST Error Number?

What was the exact message given at boot?
Enjoy!

Re: Upgrade to processor on ML350

Did not see a POST error, but the message stated that an extra PMM was missing. I have since looked at the installation guide for this server and it states that for every processor that you add you need a PMM. My reason for questioning it was that someone had said that this message might just be for information only and that the processor would work once you had booted - I did not want to take the risk so I thought I would see if anyone else had experienced this problem.
