Upgrading Firmware on SCSI Hard drives while online ???

Have a ML570 G2 with 5300 (3.54 Firmware) would like to upgrade firmware on hard drives while server is online....also runing HPSIM 4.2... can this be done ?????

Online firmware upgrade mean that you can do that from operating system without booting from support diskettes or Firmware Maintenance CD. But this not mean that upgrade is executed "on the fly". You always must reboot server after online firmware upgrade.

I dont't think it is possible. You can upgrade online the system rom, iLO firmware, and SmartArray firmware. The other components require the use of the Proliant Firmware Maintenance CD or a BIOS floppy disk.

No, drives need to be taken offline to be updated.
