Upgrading a ProLiant 1600 processor

I wish to upgrade my PL1600 from a PIII 500 to a PIII 600. What do I need to do to set the jumpers? My case only has jumper information up to PIII 500.

Also would like to add a second processor. Do I need to do anything to the system besides inserting another VRM?

Thanks

If you have this board it will work for you because there was 3 or 4 different boards for that server.

System I/O Board, (Pentium III 600MHz, only) 155349-001

Re: Upgrading a ProLiant 1600 processor

Thank you for your very quick response.

I looked at the thread you suggested, and I realized how rediculously expensive these servers are to keep as pets. For the cost to upgrade this thing I can build a complete P4/Athlon system that will run circles around it!

I do have another PPM/VRM I ordered off of Ebay coming, and since PIII 500 processors are very inexpensive now, I think I will simply add a second processor and not mess with having to put in antoher I/O board.

Thanks again.
