Use ARCserve with a USB data Drive

Hi

i heard that we cant use the software ARCserve when the data Drive is on a USB port. Is it true ? Or is it possible ?
we work on a Hp proliant ML150

More than that we have some troubles with the mouse on the port Com it doeson't work we have to use a usb one... maybe the motherboard ? or someting with the bios ?
