Using M.2 PCIe SSDs in a DL380 G8

I'm looking at using 2x 1TB M.2 Samsung 960 Evos in an HP Proliant DL380 G8 server.

I understand these are consumer, aren't HP drives, etc. etc.

My questions are:

1. How do I adapt these to PCIe slots? Can I use an adapter like this? Per reviews this doesn't reduce performance in the least.

2. Is there any way to RAID these with existing hardware in a G8, or would I have to build a software raid?

Thanks.

For the first question, you may buy a passive m.2 to pcie adaptor card.

tried it. doesn't work. see 2019 entry topic on trying to get PCIe to boot while Smart Array is active
