Using RDP to Backup Blade Server

I want to backup daily one of my Blade BL20s with Rapid deployment Pack.

I want to use one of the default jobs that come with the Proliant Jobs to capture hardware config and windows image.

The server is a domain controller and a exchange server.

Im worried about that "hpprep" porcess that is executed before the image is finally taken. I think, that since it is a "unique" Domain Controller in the domain, this may cause some problems after the server is restarted.

I would like to have a confirmation that tells me that the server will be just fine after the image capture process.

thanks

Re: Using RDP to Backup Blade Server

Hi Luis,

Hpprep.exe is a utility that removes machine-specific information from
all of our management agent configuration files, thus making a smoother
transition to a new hostname when an image is deployed.

We will not have any issue with the Hpprep utility.

Please gothrough the following doc for more information on how to capture and re-deploy the image.

To give you more information, you could run the Image capture Job without the "Hpprep" utility. Create a new job with all the scripts that are in the default image capture job with out the first script i.e is the "Hpprep". Everything works fine.

Raj.
