Using an Ultra320 HD in an Ultra3 system?
Does anyone know if you can safely use an Ultra320 HD in an Ultra3 system? I have several Proliant DL380 w/ Ultra3 controllers, have an option on a good deal on some larger Ultra320 drives, hence my question.
Thanks,
Ted

Re: Using an Ultra320 HD in an Ultra3 system?
Hello Ted,
U320 is backward compatible,it'll work @ U3 speed.
For more specific information, provide the server generation and the smart array controller?

Re: Using an Ultra320 HD in an Ultra3 system?
Hi Ted:
Go ahead and use them. The u320 drives are 100% backward compatable and you can safely use them in the older servers u2,u3 scsi backplanes.
Regards,
Tarek.
