Using both power supply's

Hi

 Simple question, does using both power supply's cause double the power load, so if i am using 355 watts does that mean both PSU's are using 355 watts so i am using over 700 watts? or does it only use 1-5 watts as standby? i have two breakers where the system is but ultimatly on the same Main line.

Since one power supply is usually for redundancy, you don't consume more power with more power supplies. Depends on the system itself, but normally 1 PSU provides power to the system, the second is more or less in standby.

Power Supplies are rated to deliver a safe maximum amount of energy, rated in Watts. There's a lot of intelligence built into HP's power supplies, read up on the below link!

They usually load balance across the number of power supplies. Not all PSU's are created equal!

Aww yeah i am using a DL360G5 i forgot to metion that on the OP
