VIDEO LOST AT BOOT PROCESS

YO!! i have several 2500 reformatted and reloaded with os2 rel 4.0
i am losing the video at the query vpd step .. replacement of system board corrects the problem !! both system board have the same bios level.same part number .same assy. number except to the different suffix.makes a difference ????????
any help !!??
