Verry slow filecopy
Setup
Proliant ML 350 G5 (32GB ram)
hp smart array p600
OS: Vmare ESX 5
Using the Smart array p600 I have maid an Raid 5 array from 5x 2TB 5900 rpm drives. Then I am using an Freenas VM to manage the array as one large volume. Moving files on this array is verrt slow less then 1MB/s. this is inside Windows 1k8r2 and samba.
Sins ESX5 can handle larger volumes than 2TB I migt rebuild it and skip freenas. If I can store the data on another place that curantly resides on the volume.
---
Using the onboard adapter: Moving files using Vmvare vsphere client from from an raid 1 arra of 2 1500rpm SAS drives to an Raid array 2 SATA disks tock:
3 492 723KB tock 330 secunds or 10548KB/s or about 10MB/s. Even this is to slow. What is the problem here?

Re: Verry slow filecopy
I will rebuild my raid 5 array so we can wait with the first part of the question.
I discoverd that my backup battery (not sure if it is the one on the built in controller or my P600) I have orderd a new one on ebay. But low battery shuldent affect filecopy speed, or?

Re: Verry slow filecopy
Hi,
Replacing the battery should resolve this issue, refer the following advisory:
